Validvictorian Speech for Rosman Elementary School in 1987

Today's graduation is an important event in our lives.  It took a lot of perserverance to reach this goal.  We had to keep on keeping on for seven years to earn this honor.  All along the way we were helped and encouraged by our knowledgable teachers and by our caring parents.  The faculty taught us as by example, that "knowledge should be our guide", and our parents encouraged us that love could go a long way.  We have shared heartaches and sorrows, joys and dreams.  Many years from now we will remember as Charles Lamb did, "... our days of childhood ... our joyful shcooldays ... and the old familiar faces."
On this occassion, I want to thank our teachers for those skills we have acquired through the years that will make our future richer and brighter.  Thanks, too, to our parents for insisting that we be educated, and thank you friends for making the days so much brighter.
The attainment of the goal makes us remember that there are other goals ahead and we must gear up and strive to reach them.  In other words, there are other victories to win, other skills to acquire, other horizons to explore.  We must keep on keeping on to make our future a happy and useful one.
On behalf of this class, I bid you a fond farewell.
     Thank you.
