Jury Duty

I had to report for Federal Jury Duty today. I parked in a parking garage across the street and made my way to the I arrived right on time but there was a line going into the Courthouse. They had metal detectors and a scanning machine. My shoes set off the metal detector so I had to take them off and have them scanned. After walking up to the third floor, I found a long line of people waiting to sign in for the jury pool. I would say that there were about eighty people total. After signing in, I found an empty seat and read over the material they gave us. I didn't really read it, but I just people watched for a while. After about 45 minutes the lady that signed me in turned on a video for us. It was like an elementary school filmstrip decribing our job as a juror. They had actors describe experiences of serving.

After that, we were herding into the court-room and had random names called to go into the jury box. Then the judge asked questions for the jury.

((I'll add more later.))
